60th Anniversary Exhibition

We reckon 150 people attended although some estimate more. It was the biggest crowd the Mairangi Arts Centre has seen. And its thanks to you, - your contribution of prints, and in very many other ways, made the event more successful than we had dreamed ! Well done!

North Shore Photographic Society

The North Shore Photographic Society is a group of enthusiastic, mainly amateur photographers. The Society aims to help members improve and enjoy their photography through workshops, competitions, exhibitions, critiques, discussion and encouragement. If this interests you, come along. Visitors are more than welcome - we even wine & dine you at the end! (Ok, just tea & biscuits really).

Try before you buy – you are welcome as a visitor but if you are still around after three meetings we will expect a subscription! If you are keen to submit your photos for assessment you must be financial.

End of Year Competition 3rd December

Lynn Clayton, APSNZ, EFIAP, ESFIAP did a superb job as our Judge and guest speaker for our end of year meeting. Her images and insight from her trip through India was very inspirational, and the winner of her beautiful book "Insight into India" that she produced about this trip will get a lot of enjoyment from it.
Lynn's comments about the high standard of our work and the difficulty of selecting the winning images for each grade reflected well on our members and for our future.
Her choices for each Grade are:
Projected
A Grade      The wife is shopping  - Jane McKay
B Grade       Alone - Jean Evans
C Grade      Hot Spot -  Marilyn Rendle
Prints
A Grade      Life and Death  - Nori Kim
B Grade      - Janet Munnings
C Grade      - Jenny Lovering

and the overall winners were: Alone - Jean Evans in projected
Life and Death  - Nori Kim in prints
