Creative Composition

Definition

Creative composition is the difference between a good photo and an outstanding one. These are the ones that you have thought about and composed carefully before you shoot.  Consider what you want in your image and place it in the screen carefully remembering your basic composition rules. A focal point must create interest and draw your eye to it. The rest of the image needs to support this. Are you going to use horizontal or portrait format, which suits best. Make sure your background is not intrusive and finally use your leading lines to take you into your COI. These guide lines still apply if you are going to add other elements to your image by use of the computer. You could blur part of your image, colour part in a black & white image, there are endless things you can do on the computer but don’t lose sight of the fact that you need good composition to create that impact image no matter how many bits and pieces you have put together on the computer Remember, If you are using more than one image or bits of other  images to create your final one, they must be all your own work, you cannot “borrow” bits and pieces from other photographers. Be creative but watch composition.
