Candle-lit photos create either a romantic or dramatic moody atmosphere. If you are lucky your camera may have a candlelight scene mode which will make it easy for you, otherwise you will have to spend time setting your cameras functions to cope with the low light situation. Make sure your flash is turned off and a tripod is essential to avoid blur. Experiment with your candles ; do you just use one candle to get a single light or several to spread the light?  Do you want the light directly in front of your subject or to the side to give you side light?  If your subject is sitting at a table, a white table cloth , newspaper or open book will throw extra light on their face. Make sure there are no extra lights coming into the room. Keep you shots as simple and as uncluttered as possible. You don’t want to detract from the effect of the candles. Select your subject matter carefully. To get that good shot you will need to spend time and experiment. Good luck!
