March 2024 Exhibition Opportunity

2024 The Lake House Arts Center Exhibition titled “Captured Moments”
June 1 opening – closing June 21


This exhibition is exclusively for financial members of the North Shore Photographic Society, providing them with the opportunity to exhibit collectively as a group as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography. Participation in this esteemed festival offers our members invaluable exposure and a platform to showcase the incredible talent within our club. We've already secured our venue by paying a deposit to the Lake House, and the full rental cost of the space will be covered by NSPS, underscoring our commitment to promoting photography within our community. Printing and mounting are at the member's expense but we have secured an excellent price from Print Art.
The Auckland Festival of Photography puts together a trail that the public can view and go to the various locations, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Festival and showcase not only the club but your photography!

Print Art has generously offered to handle the printing and mounting of all exhibition images at a competitive rate 50cm x 50cm print and matte $33.06/print + GST per image and for a bulk order a further 15% discount! (Thanks John). As a club, we'll cover the expense of a small hanging exhibition label to prominently display the name of each image and its respective photographer.

 It's imperative to note that all photos must be professionally printed and mounted to maintain the high standard of quality we aim to achieve for our exhibition. We're confident that Print Art will deliver exceptional results, and as a major club sponsor, we're proud to support them in return. Each member has the opportunity to exhibit five images, comprising three landscape and two portrait sizes, ensuring a cohesive and professional appearance for the exhibition. If you don't have five images of your own, we encourage collaboration with another member to fill the slot. The cost per member is a nominal $30, securing your exhibition space and demonstrating your commitment to participate in this prestigious event.

Images are available for sale during the exhibition, with the Lake House taking a standard 35% commission to cover handling costs. Additionally, we encourage members to display their contact details and a personal blurb on an A3-sized sheet, which we can laminate for durability. This allows potential buyers to connect directly with the photographer for larger print purchases.
 It's important to note that sharing digital images for sale is not recommended due to the potential loss of control over the image's distribution. Instead, PrintArt can handle the printing of larger images to ensure control remains with the photographer. All images must be provided to PrintArt no later than May 18 with the exhibition set-up scheduled for May 31, a Friday. We kindly ask members to consider volunteering on this day, as we aim to make this exhibition a collaborative effort and ensure its success through the collective support of our club members, this cannot be left to a few on the Committee who don't work full time so please consider helping, it won't take long if we all pitch in.
